“Alright guys, huddle-up. Huddle-up! Good practice today. We know our strengths and where to play to for the biggest impact. We all need a good rest tonight, and we’ve got it in the bag for tomorrow’s game.”
-Quarterback“You are doing a great job. You’re right on track with the goals you set for yourself. You’ve lost 15 pounds. You’ve talked about how much better you feel. You can treat yourself. Go out with your friends this weekend and get an ice cream or have that chocolate chip cookie. You can do that. To maintain that self-control, you just need to exercise it.”
-Nutrition Specialist“That first read was good. Try it this time with a little more. Give it 20% more emotion. Nothing over the top, just a little bump. Good. Good. Now open up a bit at the end of the line. Pause at the comma a bit and grab some extra air for that strong finish…Perfect. You’ve nailed it now. I wouldn’t change a thing.”
-Voice Actor Coach
Coaching is a powerful tool. I’ve seen all kinds of coaching in my life in terms of quality and type. Good. Bad. Indifferent. Phenomenal. Sports Coaches. Business Coaches. Health Coaches. Life Coaches. Educational Coaches. Faith Coaches. And now Voice Coaches.
The best coaching techniques I’ve seen in any arena have been those in which the coach is still learning and practicing. Coaching should not be something we aspire to as an end goal. The greatest coaches out there are still in the trenches, playing the games, running their own exercise programs, and voicing the reads. COACHING IS LEARNING. LEARNING IS COACHING.
Our world is changing so fast. AI is no longer on the horizon. It’s here. International customers aren’t ambiguous dreams or wishes. They’re here amidst our daily lives. If only I could afford a…. Our market is saturated with decent and quite good equipment at reasonable prices. Options for collaboration are no longer pie in the sky ideas. They are here and now with abundant choices: Zoom, Google, FaceTime, Source-Connect, Skype, and more.
I don’t know who first used the phrase, “The sky’s the limit,” but perhaps we need to coin a new one. Maybe we should consider, “Neptune’s the limit,” or “Pluto’s the limit”. Really I think you can fill in “The sky” or “Neptune” or “Pluto” with whatever your dream goal is and then with coaching…good coaching, YOU can get there. WE can get there. COACHING IS LEARNING. LEARNING IS COACHING.
